Higher CPU usage with Razer 7.1 Surround Sound installed. | Razer Insider

Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation (audiodg.exe) will use 8-14% of my CPU constantly in the background from startup until I uninstall Razer 7.1. It doesn’t depend on what I’m doing, even at idle it spikes upto 14%. I don’t know how to recreate this issue but it has happened more than twice. I guess when my electricity supply got cut off, PC didn’t shut down correctly and this issue occurred.

Hello,

I can confirm that this issue is also present on my laptop. I was staying in bed and started to notice that the fans won’t go idle at all. After checking the task manager I have noticed the exact same situation as your screenshots. As a “solution” I have uninstalled the razer surround sound, which is really not convenient as the 7.1 feature was kind of useful for some FPS games.

I hope that razer will update the app and solve the issue.

I mean you can just restart windows audio in services.msc and it's done. But it's still a bug so I posted this. They should do something about it if they are still selling this with headphones.

I have the same problem. How to fix this? In task manager this app consumes twice more than antivirus…

Same here.

Try to reinstall razer 7.1 application and restart “Windows Audio” service in “Services”.

It’s a bit strange, but it helped me 🙂

same here, it has been using between around 10-15% of CPU while my game uses 2 or 3%. FIX IT RAZER!

This issue managed to make me very angry. Im doing min-maxed stuff on my PC and 10% of my CPU power just melts away for no reason! Yes eventually I found the reason and fixed it but for real Im never buying a Razor product ever again.

any fix?

Please fix this, its using 15-20% of my cpu, i got a temporary fix to it just restart the audiodg.exe and it goes down to 1%, but i gotta remember every time i start the computer to restart audiodg.exe and its a pain in the ass, fix it Razer.

any fix?

nope, i guess they dont care at all.

I’m getting this problem too. But I don’t have the 7.1 application listed in Control Panel, assuming because it’s built into the driver now. No audio works unless I end process on audiodg.exe and then it works fine.

Thanks, it fixed mine.

Tried this, after I restarted my PC it started happening again. Seems like only a Temp fix sadly.

This is still a problem.

Having to manually restart Windows Audio service every single time I start-up my PC is not solution. Razer should fix this! It’s been years!
