So I am in the process of upgrading from a 2018 Blade 15 Base model to a 2021 Blade 15 Advanced model RZ09-0409x, 11th gen i7 - Nvidia 3070 - 165hz. Currently, both PCs are sort of in use.

Trying to figure out how many SSD slots I have has been a challenge but I believe that I am right in saying I have two slots. These slots are single-sided, something I didn’t know was a factor until after ordering a 2tb KC3000 SSD which I believe is double sided.

My question is, are BOTH slots single-sided? Will my KC3000 which hasn’t arrived yet fit, or should I return it?

What’s a good 2tb option that will fit and also maybe that doesn’t run abnormally hot?

I’m trying to reformat the original 256gb SSD for the 2018 base. I upgraded to a 980 PRO a couple of years ago, and want to free that one up, put in the original SSD, and give it to my mom who needs a new laptop. The formatting operation won’t complete. I have tried right click, disk manager and command prompt. I have the SSD connected through an enclosure which is running a usb-c to usb-c from the SSD to the laptop.
