I just got a Razer Ornata V3 X keyboard and a Naga V2 Hyperspeed MMO mouse, and I love them both. I’m new to Razer products, having ditched Logitech since they quit making the G600 and mine finally quit working, and frankly, I wish I would’ve switched sooner. I *love* Razer.
And after some research and a lot of caffeine, I think I finally understand the (complex) concepts involved in the amazing Hypershift system, except for one (major) issue. On my G600 I just used the G-Shift button to extend the functionality of its buttons, which was straightforward, and it was very easy to reach using my ring finger. Compared to Razer’s Hypershift it’s simple and less customizable, but it’s also more straightforward. (I can’t believe I’m saying the G600’s 40 buttons are limiting lol!). The only problem with Hypershift is understanding how it works, but as I said, I think I finally do...at least 99%.
The only issue I’m having in that area is that I’ve read (in a few places) that it’s possible to bind, for example, a Synapse keyboard key to Hypershift and have that activate my mouse’s Hypershift function; that is, binding a keyboard key to act as the Hypershift key for my mouse. I know that’s a complex functionality, and may seem like asking for a lot of my new hardware, but then it is Razer.
The reason I want to do this is that I can’t find a single key on my mouse that, when bound to Hypershift, provides access to all the other mouse buttons, which limits the number of alternate bindings I can use. So if I bind Hypershift to a “top” mouse button, it’s awkward to press another top button, and likewise with the side buttons. Thus, I thought of using a Synapse-compatible keyboard key as my mouse’s Hypershift “proxy”, if that makes sense. And after reading around the Web, realized I’m clearly not the only one who thinks this would be a good idea.
But I have yet to find any way to do so. I’ve tried the Inter-device and Hypershift tabs on the binding modal, but there isn’t a Hypershift option on the Inter-device one, and it doesn’t specify an option for another device on the Hypershift tab, so I don’t know how to do so. Firstly, do I just bind a keyboard key to Hypershift and then it activates my mouse’s alternate bindings? And secondly, if so, does that mean it would also activate my keyboard’s Hypershift binding set, which could prove awkward depending on profile settings?
Anyway, I apologize for the lengthy post, and hope it’s not too boring or tedious to read, but it’s a complex issue (or at least seems so to me) that I can’t seem to solve after a week of trying very hard, so any help from my fellow Gamers would be greatly appreciated! Maybe it is asking too much, but I don’t think so...?
Well, Happy New Year’s everyone, and thanks in advance! o7 =) <3
