Hey so I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve spent the last 4 hours looking into possible solutions to this problem. I’m not sure what kind of monitor you’re working with but from what I’ve read the $9 Apple usb-c to 3.5 mm jack along with an aux cable should work, so long as your monitor has an aux port. I haven’t had a chance to personally verify this yet, but I found someone else who did it a year ago and said that it worked for them. Theoretically it sounds like it will work, but you need the Apple adapter specifically. Other usb-c to 3.5 mm jack adapters, as well as the cords, are only equipped with a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) but that only works if you’re sending audio from the usb-c to the 3.5 mm. Because we need to do the opposite we need an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) to send it from the 3.5 mm to the usb-c and out of the sound bar. Luckily the Apple adapter is equipped with both a DAC as well as an ADC.
