How to get a Razer Wolverine v2 controller to work

OK, I'm 70 years old, and I've never used a controller in my life. I bought this one. The instructions say to plug it into a USB port on my computer. Done. Now what? My computer doesn't recognize it. Nothing lights up on the controller. As far as I can tell, nothing is happening at all. I've tried three different USB slots. Nothing. The instructions are pathetic - virtually nonexistent. Support is nonexistent, too, apparently. (Yes, I signed up for an account here and registered this POS.) So,... what am I supposed to do now? Did I just get a dud? Am I supposed to do something? If so, then why don't any instructions come with this thing? Any suggestions?

    OK, I finally got in touch with Razer Support. Apparently, I just received a dud. They're supposed to be contacting me about getting a replacement.
