Huntsman Elite Dead Keys

My Huntsman Elite keyboard worked perfectly fine one night and the following day a few keys randomly stopped working, specifically the “C” “V” and right “SHIFT” keys (possibly a couple more I have not noticed yet) are no longer responding no matter how many times it’s pressed. I removed the physical keys that are having issues and cleaned everything using a dry cleaning brush designed for keyboards with no luck, I then tried compressed air and still no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard and all drivers, and did a firmware update. I have left Synapse running as well as closing and exiting out of Synapse, no change either way. The lights on the keys function as normal, I just don’t get a response when the keys are pressed. I purchased this keyboard from a Best Buy about 3-4 years ago, I imagine it is no longer under warranty. Is this keyboard cooked?

P.S I am using an old wireless keyboard to be able to type the keys that do not work.

P.P.S I take good care of my devices, don’t abuse or be rough with them, clean them somewhat regularly and keep everything up to date. Razer products are the ONLY products of mine that have stopped working at any point. I still have cheap keyboards from 15+ years ago that work perfectly fine but this $200 keyboard stops after a few years? This seems like a Razer issue, not a user issue.

After looking through SEVERAL other posts of almost the exact same issue, it seems this problem is fairly common for this keyboard. It also seems that Synapse is a common culprit to a lot of these issues people are having (unfortunately it does not seem to be the issue I encountered, as the keys mentioned in OP still do not work). How is it that the app meant to be used with the companies products is a common cause of people running into issues with their products? Is this not enough of an issue for them to have a fix? The main “fix” I see is to not run Synapse. I mean this genuinely, if anyone has a good answer I’m curious to know.

Go Huntsman Elite tab in Synapse. Click the keyboard properties. From there turn down repeat rate. I believe this whole keyboard key repeat thing in Synapse 4 needs turned down as I do not get this with my delete key any other time. I think I ended up at the 5 or 6 tick.

Let us know!

I'm having the exact same issue with my Huntsman Elite. It was working perfectly one night, and the next day the “C”, “V”, and right “SHIFT” keys just stopped responding completely. I also removed the keycaps, cleaned everything with a dry keyboard brush, then tried compressed air, no luck. I reinstalled the drivers, updated the firmware, and even tested it with Synapse both running and closed. I even fully resetting my PC. Still nothing. The RGB lighting works fine, but the keys just don’t register at all. I even tried the keyboard on another computer, and the exact same keys still don’t work.

I’ve had this keyboard for about 4–5 years, so it’s out of warranty by now. Like you, I take really good care of my devices.

Super frustrating. If anyone’s found a solution or has any advice, I’d really appreciate it.

Please see my comment about keyboard key rate in Windows. If you think you have this issue please state if this fix worked or not. Maybe the type of switch is helpful in finding the root cause.

I have a Huntsman Elite with Purple switches.

This only affects me when Synapse 4 is active.

I’ve tested it and nothing changed, I still have the same issue. I also have the Huntsman Elite with Purple switches.

Sorry, you may have a bad switch or corrode contacts.

My board has barely been used.

For me my key problem was the number “6” everytime i was pressing the button sometimes dont work at all or just spam “666666” multiple random times.
