Huntsman elite some keys not responding

Hello.

I've purchased Razer Elite Huntsman few years ago. It's not covered by the warranty anymore. I have problems with few keys not working poperly. (Space-bar, B, P, 0, ? and -).  The 1st three sometimes work sometimes don't and sometimes they just spam like 3-5 times in one push of the key. Others I think they are just dead.

I've done multiple hard resets, cleaned the keyboard, tested different usb ports, tested on a different pc, disassembled the keyboard and tries swapping switches (no change), downloaded latest firmware, downloaded latest win update and I've disabled the synapse. None of the above helped. It tool hours to do all that not to mention the fact that I've disassembled the keyboard twice already. It's the cleanest keyboard ever... Warranty is already gone, which component is faulty? Is it possible to buy it?

I definitely don't want to buy another Huntsman, for the price I was hoping that I could leave the keyboard in my will for the future generations...

Please advise.

It seems like the actual switches have already malfunctioned. Did you attempt to remove the affected keys frequently? It is not advisable to remove Opto-Mechanical Switches as it can potentially damage their functionality.

I only attempted to remove them after they stopped working not before. It was only to test the circuit of the failed switch and to see what is actually broken. If it was the switch it would be easy to replace but that's not the case here.

I see. By the way, how did you clean the keyboard? Also, when and where did you buy it? Is it beyond its two-year hardware warranty?

Right…. did you even bother to read my post…. or is it AI replying to the question...well not replying really….just pretending to reply most likely...

I want to confirm if you are using any cleaning agent or a can of compressed air. Also, you mentioned that the Razer product is beyond warranty, is it two years? I don’t think my question is irrelevant. Some other users assume that their device has only one-year hardware warranty coverage.

Switch on Huntsman is just a “dummy” that breaks/opens sensor beam. I doubt, that it would fail, but theoretically it’s still possible. If it’s really out of warranty, you can try to dissabembly the keyboard, pop-out the failed key (just replace it with a working one, for tests).

When disassembled you can also have better ability to easier and faster clean the PCB with compressed air, you can also try to clean IR leds on each failed key with an 100% isopropyl alcohol (it’s safe for electronics).
