Is my laptop safe to use with a swollen battery?

My Razer 15 is a little over 3 years old and has started switching off in the middle of a game. Then fails to turn on for at least an hour. I’m guessing it’s overheating and needs to cool down. So after the last time I opened it up to clean the fans properly and saw that the battery has begun to swell up. I have read online that there is a possibility that the battery explodes. At the same time I have read here that the laptop won’t function properly if I remove the battery. The replacement is taking forever to arrive. Is my laptop safe to use? Tnx

Hi Dogtrooper,

I’m sorry to hear about the Razer Blade having swollen battery. This issue may occur when the batteries are exposed to high heat or may be due to the aging of battery cells. We advise that swollen devices should not be used. You may also visit this link for your reference. I'd appreciate if you could send a photo or video showing the issue for our Support Team visibility. You can upload the file to Google Drive and PM me the laptop serial number so I can verify its model and our options for a battery replacement.
