Is there any hope? | Razer Insider

Hi guys, so as it turns out I did a pretty dumb thing with my mouse, and I just wanted to know if there is any hope left for me.
So as for almost every razer deathadder elite mouse these have “jumpy” scroll wheels or whatever, the scroll click is not always working, same with the up and down scrolling.
So I decided to spray some brake cleaner into it to get any dirt out from it, because once I took it apart and cleaned it and it was good for quite some time. But when I did that my sensor “stopped working”. It basically drifts to the left and doesn’t react to anything.(so if I drag the cursor back to the middle with another mouse and then connect this one it will go to the top left corner and stay there) Maybe I was able to make it jump back a little bit but after a lot of tries and it drifted right back into its place and doesn’t move. I dried it out, but it doesn’t seem to help much, or it needs more time, but at the same time I am pretty sure its toasted. The only reason I am writing this and trying to fix it is because, the RGB lighting and the left and right clicks are completely fine. Even the scroll wheel got repaired this way, ( 🙂 ) But I guess the brake cleaner damaged something in there…
Thanks for anybody that maybe has an idea for a possible comeback.

You could try to pour and clean IPA (100% isopropyl alcohol) on the board and try to clean with a brush. There’s always some chance you’ll remove some corrosion caused by brake cleaner.

Thank you, I will try that!

Well, I tried to clean it off, I managed to get some tiny white flecks off of it (idk if that was corrosion) and also some little black got on  my cleaning rag, but it didn’t seem to help. The issue is still the same, so I guess I will have to buy a new mouse.
