Is this normal or a defect?

I just purchased my Razer Blackshark V3 Pro a couple days ago and needed to charge it for the first time, and I noticed when i plugged it into my pc or PS5 the anc would automatically turn on as if it was on when it was indeed shut off. Is this a normal feature or a defect, and should I be worried about battery health if ANC is active while in the charge state?

That’s just how it is. While charging via USB, ANC uses a bit of that charge, and the charge time can take longer with the ANC on.

If you want quieter charging, turn the ANC off after plugging in. Or you can also charge from a wall, as opposed to a USB audio host.

even if the headset is powered off and not connected to a pc or console? im mostly concerned if it could be a defect or cause battery damage over time.

Not a defect, and no battery damage over time, because the ANC only draws a small amount of unnoticeable power while charging. Turning off ANC while charging will use no battery at all.
