Is ti possible to wake up a Blade 14 by LAN / WOL (via HP Dock G5 via USB-C or LAN-USB-Adapter)? | Razer Insider

Hi together,

i recently bought a Blade 14 2022 and a Core X Chroma. In this combination I thougt it would be possible to wake up the Blade by WOL. But so far I didn’t managed to get it working… After some performance issues I switched the docking to a HP USB-C Dockingstation G5 which also comes with a LAN Port. Same here, i dont get it working, to wake up the Blade. With another HP Notebook it is working to wake it up by the HP Dock.

Is it in general possible to wake up the blade 14 by WOL? I dont find something on google and on the Razer-Sites… the bios is pretty empty and dont give any information about WOL…

I tried already the common things which can be found on the web/razer sites… Windows fast start deactivated, Energy-Settings in the Device Manager, ...

Someone can help?

it would be pretty annoying if I always have to open the blade to turn it on… i put it below my desk to have only the monitor + mouse and keyboard on the desk...

Thanks

hello, make sure to download the latest Realtek USB  Ethernet Driver driver from the HP website and also make sure to update the docks firmware to the latest version. In Windows you also need to activate the WOL feature from the adaptor settings.

Hi RoseQuartzsitecool785,

your answer imply that it is in general possible to wake up the Blade 14 2022 by LAN? I dont find anything for that on the internet? Do you have a source, that it should be possible? Also with the Core X Chroma?

I already tried everything including updating the ethernet driver and dock firmware… In windows it is also already activated…

If the laptop has a USB Type C port with Alt Display mode so it should have this capability. In bios does it have this option?

Yes it has USB Type C port with Alt Display mode but the bios does not have any options for WOL...

Dunno, how it’s in Razer Blade BIOS, but I had some problem with WoL not working on Dell PC. For me it fixed disabling some CPU C-steps / (C3/C6 steps / deep sleep etc.) in BIOS.
