issue with high pitched whine on my razer barracuda X headset

Hi,

I get a high pitched whine in the right ear of my barracuda headset while connected via the dongle.  If I connect via an audio cable, i don't get the whine. It started a couple of days ago.

I’ve tried updating firmware, but I cant seem to find a firmware for my headset: RZ04-03801.  I tried RZ04-03800, as it was close, but it didn't seem to detect my headset.

I’ve isolated it to the dongle - with dongle in, I get the whine, without I don't get a whine.  If I set volume to zero, on both the headset and the PC, the whine is still present.  But as soon as I disconnect the dongle it goes away.

Any advice, or things to try?

I understand that you’re experiencing audio issues with your headset. Can you download the Headset Pairing Utility and follow the steps from this link? Please also send me a PM with the serial number so I can verify it in our system and look for troubleshooting steps that might address the issue.
