issue with razer wolverine pro V3 firmware update

I just updated the Razer controller app for Xbox and I found an update for my Wolverine pro V3 but when I click everywhere on the screen all buttons became not responsive. Is the new app version bugged?

If this is on Windows, you have to use the controller to move to the update firmware button & press A.

That’s what worked for me.  Mouse didn’t work for whatever reason.  It also ran through the update several times & now has firmware 2.0.8.0 installed.

Can you please point us to an article that explains what the firmware update adds/fixes?

Razer support released a firmware update without release notes? That's great!

My hero. Just got the controller this morning and I couldn’t update it at all. Even the firmware updater wouldn’t work. Then I saw this and tried it and it worked. I told Razer support as I was already on with their L3 technical people who didn’t know about this it seems! 🤣

Glad I could help out.  Residual habits from my past life as a tech support person I guess.

I installed the razer controller application update yesterday on my Xbox Series X. My controller mappings do not work at all afterwards tjat, and I also cannot go into the edit tab for any of the profiles. The update completely bricked the software. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the application but that fixed nothing. Does anyone have any idea how to get this fixed on Xbox Series X?

Wired or with dongle?  Did the dongle & the controller both update their firmware?

I’m able to manage the 4 profiles that are listed.  Do you see four entries listed with the circle button + ABXY?

I have a wired razer wolwerine ultimate, this one has no dongle, just an adapter in the end for a usb-a port, which I connect it to my xbox with. As to your question if both updated firmware, I would be unable to answer yes or no in all fairness.

I do of course have a laptop that I could attach it to, if it qould help troubleshooting or making sure the controller is actually up-to-date in terms of firmware. I thought that only the application on xbox is what would matter, aince updating thta app through the microsoft store on box broke everything essentially. I didn't see them 4 profiles u mentioned. After updating all my old profiles were still there, which I erased though, while trying to fix the issue.

When you say Wolverine Ultimate, you mean the one with the swappable D-PAD & the 4 buttons where the mic plugs in?

Asking, because I also have one of those still.  Completely different beast than the V3 Pro with a wireless option.  If yours looks like this, I’ll test it out with the updated app.  And if it like this one, you might want to split it to a new topic.

EDIT:  I did mod mine, so you def won’t have the “jewel buttons” like this, but everything else would be the same.

I started a new topic for the Wolverine Ultimate.  Go to the link below if you problem is with the Ultimate & not the V3 Pro.

Your V3 Pro should have 2.0.8.0 for the firmware now.

Sort of related, myself and from what I found a few other people experienced their Wolverine v3 Pro controllers becoming unresponsive/”bricked” after the update of the controller failed at around 50% on the xbox app. So far all of the suggestions to try to update on Windows etc haven’t worked since the controller doesn’t even respond to holding the xbox button (even when wired using the supplied USB cable on multiple devices like Xbox, Windows laptop, Macbook Pro). Any ideas or suggestions. So far I have raised a support ticket but don’t see any progress on actual steps to resolve the issue.

I can’t find the option to set it to 1000hz polling rate in the software now? Anyone know what I’m missing?

Hello guys!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I understand you're experiencing issues with your Razer Wolverine V3 Pro after the latest update. allow me to ask a few questions to help us identify the problem:

  • Does the controller work in both wired and wireless modes?
  • Can you check the firmware version through the Controller App? (Is it 1.0.3.1 or 2.0.8?)
  • Did you encounter any errors during the firmware update? If so, at what percentage did it fail?
  • Are you using the original cable that came with the product?

Please PM me with the controller's serial number and proof of puchase for warranty validation. Thanks!
