Joystick on the Razer Tartarus Pro | Razer Insider

I’ve been using a Razer Tartarus for about 3 years now and am absolutely loving it - it’s a great device that is extremely customizable via Synapse and saves a lot of unnecessary wrist-flicking with the mouse. I haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever… until now.

I recently downloaded Diablo IV. I had played Diablo and Diablo II back in the day on a mouse and keyboard, and it was fine at the time because it was all I knew, but I played Diablo III on console and the controller actually felt better than just mouse and keyboard, although there were certain things that were a pain to do. With Diablo IV, I’ve reverted to the PC. I tried playing Diablo IV with the mouse and keyboard and it just felt… off… having to click to move. Sadly, for whatever reason, Diablo IV does not currently support WASD movement, so my current options are either (i) play on my mouse and keyboard (using my mouse to click where I want to go) or (ii) hook up one of my controllers to my PC and play that way. However, with a controller, players ultimately really only use the left thumbstick on the controller, and so it would be 100x better if I could use my Tartarus in my left hand (which has the one thumbstick I need) and my mouse in my right hand.

Here’s where the problem comes in: In Synapse, I can virtually assign the directional inputs of the left thumbstick on a Controller (i.e., up, down, left, right) to any of the keys on the Tartarus *except* for the only ones I would actually want to assign them to - the four directional buttons on its thumbstick. It’s a bit hard to articulate, but if I click on any of the other buttons, it allows me to select key binds from the Keyboard, Joystick, or Controller. However, when I click on the thumbstick and try to reassign it, the Controller row disappears from the panel on the left.

Why????????????????????????????

This is incredibly frustrating and I don’t see any real purpose for this limitation, especially as I can assign the first row of keys on the Tartarus to have those inputs (I tried it but assigning the movement keys to buttons 16~19 on the Tartarus was just too hard to control, and in any event I would like to use those buttons for pots / abilities / etc.). Is this something that you all could patch so that players can use the Tartarus to play Diablo IV without having to go through some third-party application like reWASD or something like that?

I just bought the tartarus pro myself to try to do this exact same thing! I have an Azeron Keypad and it works flawlessly like this but I have some YouTube viewers who have this razer device so thought I would give it a try…. Looks like I’ll have to buy REWASD software to get this device to actually work and be recognized as a controller….

Were you able to get it working with REWASD? I know it's a long shot since nce this post is almost a year old
