Keyboard doesn't want to work spontaneously

So I was doing some cleaning and I unplugged my keyboard. I cleaned the keys and plugged it back in. Well when it plugged back in the only thing that happened was the pause break button lit up red. Nothing else. I kept trying different things but it refuses to do anything. Any help would be desperately appreciated
