Kitty Kraken Crackling sound

I have had TWO separate purchases of the kitty kraken headset. the first was when they first came out and i dealt with it because they were sold out everywhere and I game a lot. I scoured the internet and did all the troubleshooting I could fine. Then every time i used the mute feature on my mic it would crackle and static and disconnect on top of the normal crackling. Which is BEYOND annoying. I finally contacted support and they are finally going to replace it after a run around and three separate conversations. but I have to send mine in to get it replaced. has anyone actually had the cracking resolved with a replacement? because this seems to be an EXTREMELY common issue and after $800+ invested in Razer i'm losing faith in the brand at his point. If i send this in and the replacement does it too I might just lose it....
