KIYO Pro camera 'dead' to my computer | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I bought a KIYO pro camera and only use it once/week for 1 hour at a time to broadcast Church services via facebook. It worked fine for a few months, but it started not to be recognized by my computer for a few minutes whenever I tried to 'set up live video' on facebook. Then it would not work at all.

I brought it to my office and plugged it in and it was recognized immediately and Windows set up the software. I updated the firmware (which already had the latest version) and when it told me to unplug the camera and plug it back in to complete the update, the camera was not recognized by the computer. I tried multiple times.

I disconnected it for about 2 hours and plugged it back in and the computer recognized it and said the update was successful. There are no buttons or switches on the camera. Only the USB receptacle.

I don't have 2 hours to wait for it to 'wake up' when I use it each week. WHAT IS WRONG? Is there a solution, other than trashing it and buying another camera? I paid $100 for this Razer camera when I could have picked so many others for $50 to $60 instead in the first place.
Hi ONYXleetDeepPink515,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your new Razer Kiyo Pro camera. Did you try installing the Synapse 3 app so it can fetch all of the necessary updates for the camera? Are you using a USB hub or try plugging the camera directly into the motherboard's USB port? PM me the serial number so I can validate its model and check for other workarounds and options we have. Thanks!
