Kiyo Pro Numerous (Weird) Issues

This might take a bit of explaining, but here goes.

So I purchased a used Kiyo Pro off eBay for a decent price. No stand, but had a USB 3 cable (or so I thought).

I plugged it in, installed the software and it was working, but it was rather janky. Very inconsistent when it worked. After using USBDview, I was able to see that the Kiyo was in fact running on USB 2.0, as the USB cable provided was NOT USB 3. Thankfully, I had a good cable lying around. After using that, the camera definitely perked up a bit.

But many issue still exist. The main one, which seems to be quite common, is Windows detects the camera as a USB Video Device, not a Razer Kiyo Pro. I’ve tried the method explained by many, which is to update the driver using Device Manager and the use USB Video Device driver. Tried this… and it didn’t work. So it’s just stuck on USB Video Device.

The other issue is a big problem. Most of the time, it simply DOES NOT WORK. I have to disconnect and reconnect several times to get software like OBS to detect it.  No idea why.

The other issue, which is actually quite bizarre, is that if I plug it into a different USB post, it creates a NEW and SEPARATE instance of the driver. Making the camera act like a completely new piece of hardware. As a result, I have to reselect the Kiyo in OBS every time it’s plugged in to a different USB port. The way around this is to always plug it into the SAME USB port every time.. which is annoying. Even then, it’s hit and miss if it’ll work.

This is just a few of the problems this camera has. No idea if I got a dodgy one, or if these problems are known and common. The firmware on the Kiyo has been updated as well.

Does any one have any ideas? Especially about the driver problem, where it creates multiple drivers for each individual USB port? Please and thank you!
