My fix:
Open synapse and then check out the audio profile. It auto picked a duplicate desktop profile which did not play any audio. Pick the other duplicate and try if it works. Hope that works.

You have to go to windows sound options, right click on your headset, and turn on windows spatial sound as well.

Windows spatial audio is not the same. I don't recommend turning this on as the sound quality sucks

still same...

its been 3 months since this post opened still doesnt work

Same, and Razer Support takes soooo long to reply. They were replying on Messenger at first, but now, nothing. Siiiigh
If you are on windows 10 and dont know how to repair the thx button and sound not working even in the software for me the solution of fixing it was right clicking windows button going to shutdown down or sign out and put the computer to sleep and that repaired it and then pressing the power button on the case to start the windows 🙂
i attached two photo's of showing it working again and if it doesnt and hope it works here is my razer kraken tournament edition synapse 3 profile just in case: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i8qvydfvz4ph4h4/razer_kraken_tournament_edition.synapse3/file
oh and by the way at me everytime i start the computer i have to go in sleep mode one or two times then turn on pc from sleep again for the THX to work on the headset

hope this will help someone not only me

^THIS for me
Just for those who haven't checked... I was having issues with my THX spatial audio not working and apparently overnight the chat/game volume dial got turned all the way down. If you are not paying attention and this dial is all the way down YOU WILL NOT GET ANY SOUND.... I was only able to get sound when my sound settings were set to the chat version of the headset, not the game, and especially not the THX audio. great way to waste like 3 hours uninstalling and reinstalling drivers...

Try uninstalling Synapse using CCleaner

how?
My THX stop working after 4 days, anyone know how to fix that, i really need help
My USB AUDIO Controller is not working well. Is it hardware issue? Software Synapse 3 should be working fine. The USB AUDIO Controller does not respond in terms of its mute button and the bass boost lever
I have razer nari essential when I use the thx aux jack I can use stereo at 96khz but it stopped working troubleshooting doesnt help nothing it cant play any audio but it works with communication

Try uninstalling Synapse using CCleaner so it removes all registry edits. Also uninstall the driver for the headset inside device manager and plug it back in so it installs the driver again. Then install Synapse to try again.

I did that and after uninstalling and restarting the thx spatial audio was not shown anymore as an option in windows. I tried everything to get it back, nothing worked. The support couldn`t help me either. After the recent windows update it showed up again.
Having the same issues. tried everything above, nothing worked.

It's the app, it's broken garbage. I've dealt with their support multiple times regarding thx spatial. I've uninstalled, reinstalled cleanly probably 15 times by now and each time it synapse 3 mixer tab becomes unresponsive after opening and closing a game application.

Synapse 3 does not communicate properly with windows 10 sound settings. What a waste of money this headset was. Their support does nothing but string you along for WEEKS for the one issue. I have emails back and forth to prove it, they just repeat themselves with default uninstall/reinstall instructions. Then they escalate you to tier 2 support, and guess what? They give you the same uninstall/reinstall instructions OVER AND OVER AGAIN, ITS INSANITY.

I'm done with this brand, I was loyal since 2014, but now this synapse 3 app, that's been in beta for YEARS, has got me to my wits end. I'm here to warn all of you, get out now.

I have always been a razer fan since 2013 and the blackshark v2 is the first new razer equipment i bought, and i have the same problems with the support, If i buy a headset for more than 100€ i expect it to work, but no razer starts selling unfinished crap I am really dissapointed.
I got it to work after more than a week without a working headset only by resetting my pc.
Only way i have found working for this is to just restart the pc untill it randomly works again, sometimes just one restart does the trick other times over 10 restarts is needed, or uninstall synapse and re install it again, seems to happen everytime there is an update on synapse, never bying a headset from razer again thats for sure, had this headset for over a year and this is still a thing, that is not just bad its deserving of a medal of some sort. really sad cause the headset itself is the best ive ever had,

Thank you. Can't believe I didn't try that.
This fixed the problem for me. I had it initially in a USB 2.0 port, worked fine.
Then I switched it over to a USB 3.1 port hoping to somehow be able to up the sample rate and bit depth to something higher than 16bit 48KHz (audiophile). Instead, I receive no output through THX Spatial driver.
It started working again with a USB 2.0 port.

If you want to use the headset at a higher bit depth & sample rate, plug it into an auxiliary port with the 3.5mm jack that is included with the headset. Sadly there is no THX spatial sound you can use with the auxiliary, only through USB.
See attached...

hey what amplifier did you use or so on to get 192khz with razer nari? A 3.5mm to type-C DAC adapter? tell me what you use to get that high because I can only get 16bit96khz at max sometimes it doesnt work

Just had this issue. Was playing a game and had a video streaming through Firefox and sound was fine on both. Video ended, I exited game, went to a new video and had no sound.

In the Volume Mixer I could see that the video on Firefox was playing audio, it just wasn't getting to my ears.
I always have it set to "Speakers (THX Spatial - Synapse)" but I found that when I switched it to "Speakers (Razer Audio Controller - Game)" I suddenly had sound from the video. So when I exited the game, it suddenly started outputting audio through a different output for some reason.

I fiddled with some settings while the video continued to play and found a workaround that seems to force audio back to the correct output device. Probably doesn't fix the root problem though. This is for Windows 10.

  • Open Sound Settings
  • Select your output device (I assume THX Spatial - Synapse but don't know if it's named the same for everyone)
  • Click Device Properties
  • Click Additional device properties
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Toggle "Enable audio enhancements" and click apply.

Toggling this switched audio back to my preferred output. I toggled it back and the audio stayed on, so I don't think it's the cause of the problem.
I am mainly just commenting here so that I get notifications regarding anyone else's post that might offer any assistance.
I have the same issues as a lot of the posts here with Synapse THX not detecting apps to be able to configure. Only difference from OP is I am using a Nari.
I have a support ticket open with razer but all they have done for far is get me to repair a bunch of stuff which hasn't helped at all.
Frustrating thing is i installed it on my work laptop and it just worked instantly... no issues at all... I just want it to work 😞

Sure I can, here is a comparison of a bunch of possibly useful details 🙂 Let me know if your pc is similar to mine.

My pc (not working)
OS Name: MS Windows 10 Home
OS Version: 2004
OS Build: 19041.610
Synapse Ver: 3.5.1030.101917
Installed Visual C++ Redist: 2005 (x64), 2013 (x86 v12.0.40660 & x64 v12.0.40664), 2015-2019 (x86 & x64 v14.27.29112)
Enabled/installed .net: 4.8

work laptop (working)
OS Name: MS Windows 10 Pro
OS Version: 1903
OS Build: 18362.1139
Synapse Ver: 3.5.1030.101917
Installed Visual C++ Redist: 2005 (x64), 2013 (x86 v12.0.40660 & x64 v12.0.40660), 2015-2019 (x86 & x64 v14.27.29112)
Enabled/installed .net: 4.8

I included the redist and .net as they were 2 of the things razer support got me to repair while troubleshooting.

Only noticeable difference is how old the work laptops windows version is... its from back in 2019 whereas my pc win ver is roughly June 2020 I believe.

Ok that would be 2004... Unless you were part of the not so many that already had 20H2 which released in October.
Please do let me know if the reinstall works and what version you reinstalled to.

I will post updates here if I get anywhere... But at the moment it just looks like a win ver issue... However if that were the case shouldn't razer support know that?

My windows was 20h2 before. I installed clean windows now. I unplugged everything but a4 tech mouse. After windows install completed i installed razer synapse without any usb device. After this first i plugged my razer viper and reboot then updated with synapse. I did the same with blackwidow and finally i did it for blackshark v2. Now its working. I didnt update and windows thing. After realtek driver its still okey. Now im installing other drivers and i'll see if its working or not.
