Kraken v3 pro gigabyte aorus master x670e Microphone problems | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hi,

I have a persistent issue with my Razer Kraken V3 Pro headset and I hope someone here can help me resolve it. My current setup includes a Gigabyte Aorus Master X670E motherboard with a Ryzen 7800X3D processor. Every time I suspend, power on, or restart my PC, the headset microphone is not recognized properly when I re-enter Windows. To get it working, I need to unplug and reinsert the USB dongle. The sound always works fine, but the microphone only activates after this procedure.

It’s important to note that the device does not seem to have driver issues. I have tried everything related to drivers without success. Curiously, this issue also occurred with my previous setup (X570 motherboard with a 5900X processor). However, when I connect the dongle to my MSI 2QE Leopard Pro laptop, I don’t have this issue and the headset works perfectly, including the microphone.

Problem Summary:

  • Microphone does not work when starting Windows from shutdown, restart, or sleep mode.
  • Temporary solution: Unplug and reinsert the USB dongle.
  • Sound always works, but the microphone doesn’t activate until the above procedure is done.
  • No apparent driver issues.

My Setup:

  • Headset: Razer Kraken V3 Pro
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Master X670E
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7800X3D
  • Operating Systems: Windows 11 on both desktop and laptop

Things I Have Tried (to avoid repeated suggestions):

  • Reinstalled Razer Synapse multiple times.
  • Disabled and re-enabled the dongle driver (issue: requires reboot).
  • Disabled power management option in Device Manager.
  • Disabled USB selective suspend in power plan settings.
  • Enabled/disabled ErP in BIOS.
  • Tried many other BIOS settings without success.

If anyone has had a similar problem or has the same headset and motherboard, or if you have any ideas on what might be causing this issue, please share your experiences or suggestions. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Solution Found for Microphone Recognition Issue with Razer Kraken V3 Pro and ThermalTake Software Conflict

Hi everyone,

After numerous attempts and extensive troubleshooting, I’ve identified a conflict between the Razer Kraken V3 Pro headset and the ThermalTake application. Here’s a summary of my findings and a potential solution:

Problem Summary:

  • Issue: The headset microphone was not recognized properly upon starting, restarting, or waking my PC from sleep. Unplugging and reinserting the USB dongle was required to get the microphone to work.
  • Setup: The issue was present on my desktop setup but not on my MSI 2QE Leopard Pro laptop.
  • Conflict Identified: The problem arises when the ThermalTake application is set to start automatically with Windows.

Key Findings:

  1. If the ThermalTake application does not start automatically, the Razer Kraken V3 Pro works perfectly.
  2. Manually starting the ThermalTake application after Windows has fully booted also resolves the issue.
  3. Attempting to delay the startup of the ThermalTake application by scheduling it to start 60 seconds after login did not solve the problem. It seems that the automatic startup process modifies something that causes the conflict.

Proposed Solution: I plan to create a script to launch the ThermalTake application manually, simulating a double-click to avoid the automatic startup conflict. If successful, I will share the script here for others facing the same issue.

Next Steps:

  1. Script Development: I will work on a script to manually start the ThermalTake application.
  2. Testing: I will test the script to ensure it resolves the conflict without requiring manual intervention each time.

Temporary Workaround: For now, not setting the ThermalTake application to start automatically with Windows resolves the issue. This information might help others facing a similar conflict.

I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same problem. I will update this thread with the script once it is tested and confirmed to work.

Best regards,

Pasieguku
