Kraken v3 Pro - Hypersense noises and volume offset | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hello, I have a problem with the hypersense mode of my new Racer Kraken V3 Pro which was delivered today. The motors in both earcups produce clearly audible and annoying ringing noises, even on the lowest Hypersense level. These ringing noises can also be clearly heard by outsiders. Even when no sound is active at all, I can perceive quiet noises from the left earpiece cup, which are probably also generated by the Hypersense motors. As soon as I deactivate Hypersense, the noises disappear.

Furthermore, the sound on the left earcup is quieter when the volume wheel is not turned up fully.

Anyone got a similar problem or knows how to fix this?

Hey,

I have the exact same problem with the Hypersense mode (I also have a Kraken V3 Pro). I can hear a ringing noise like little springs vibrating. And If I deactivate Hypersense it stops.

Not sure about the volume difference yet, but I'll keep that in mind and try to see if I that is the case with mine as well.

I have also opened a support ticket, but if you have more information please feel free to post it here.
Hi, same here :(

I was so excited when I received it almost a week before the estimated delivery but then I've got almost immediately disappointed.

I confirm both the ringing and the uneven volume in the left cup when not maxed out.

I did some testing uninstalling the synapse software, trying with both THX on and off, different devices, etc and here's everything I've found out so far:

  • Deactivating Hypersense immediately stops the ringing

  • It's directly proportional to the intensity of Hypersense

  • It's also directly proportional to the volume of the headset. But I still get the ringing even at 50% windows volume and 50% wheel position

  • It's not driver (software) related because it happens even when connected with the 3.5 cable

  • I can even trigger the ringing with the headset turned on but not connected to anything at all, as long as hypersense is on, by quickly wiggling/shaking my head ... Ok It's an uncommon scenario and I'd be happy if this was the only way to get it to ring

  • I've searched for "audio frequency test" videos on youtube and with hypersense at top intensity and 50% volume (quite ... quiet) the ringing starts roughly below 400hz. With hypersense at low intensity it only starts below 250. Which is still too much. Certainly not the advertised 20h-20khz range

Just opened my support ticket as well.

I really hope it's just a quality control issue that can be resolved. I would hate to request a refund and having to look for another product

Ps

Extra info just to see if it's a localized issue : I'm from Italy, I've ordered my headset from the razerstore (which I think it's the only way to get the Kraken v3 pro right now) and the package says it arrived from HK
I have same problem! I'm thinking about sending an exchange for new headphones, but does it make sense if there is such a big bug

Did you manage to solve the problem?
yes and no =/

The support team did an excellent job and managed to get me a replacement quite fast considering I'm on the other side of the planet.

The new unit is better but sadly not perfect.

No more volume issue, but about the haptic ringing ... it still happens. On a much smaller range of frequencies (20-90) but it still happens.

This time it's not persistent and it happens only when I change intensity with the button too many times (5/6).

Once it starts ringing the only way to make it stop is to turn the headset off and back on.

So long as I don't change intensity or accept to turn them off when it happens, they're "fine"

I'm still discussing with the support team whether it's worth trying another rma or not 😞
I'm on my second set for the volume issue and they aren't any better unfortunately. I've been lucky in the sense I haven't had the ringing issue on either set
