I've been running into a very frustrating issue.
since the win11 October 14th update, my system has been showing some very peculiar behavior. after a lengthy process of rolling back specific updates, reinstalling drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling apps, drivers etc and finally a complete fresh install of my PC I continue to have the following issue.
At the moment I have a soundbar over digital output of my mainboard (MSI x870e carbon wifi) and the razer kraken v4 pro. when i boot up my machine with synapse 4 active and try to play video, the video will not play and go into a loading pattern. the second I close synapse, video starts playing again. In these cases, no matter what you do, the soundbar will not produce sound as long as synapse 4 is active. the second you turn it off, full audio is restored.
When then restarting synapse, the result varies:
Sometimes all is well until a reboot, then the problem is back
Sometimes it will only recognize the kraken
Sometimes it will recognize no audio input
Sometimes windows audio controls crash/grey out.
I’ve tried the setup with both synapse 3 and 4 to exclude its another Razer product interfering (as I run a mostly Razer setup) and under synapse 3 all is fine.
I also tried running the Kraken pro in bluetooth, hyperspeed or combined mode.
with synapse on, video will still hang indefinitely.
without synapse 4 on initially there’s a delay of 1-3 seconds before video playback starts.
switching between headphones and soundbar is no issue at that point.
Now I've tried all the options I could find online, including activating/deactivating GPU acceleration, activating/deactivating audio acceleration. going up and down qualities in playback. installing/uninstalling/reinstalling both realtek and razer drivers. installing/uninstalling/reinstalling synapse4. upgrading from synapse 3 to synapse 4. use the razer removal tool to purge older drivers and THEN try both the synapse 3 and synapse 4 installation route….and nothing seems to fix the issue. Any fix I found so far is only temporary and is undone by the time you reboot the machine.
Given I now had windows audio control die on me a few times I suspect the issue to be in the audio driver sectrion, but for the love of god I cannot find a fix.
Anybody?
