Kyo Pro audio can stop working properly

I have a Razer Kiyo Pro and I bought it, this January, to do online meetings. I bought it for a Mac machine it’s a new Mac Mini M2 Pro with the latest operating system and I haven’t installed any camera software that I’m aware of.

 

The issue is that the Kiyo Pro microphone can stop working properly at some point during a meeting.

 

This happened on a Microsoft Teams meeting, which is a Mac application, and a Google Meet which uses Firefox Browser, so I don’t think it’s specific to the meeting software.

It happened at a reasonable amount of time, the meeting had being going on a few minutes before the issue happened and on the second occassion it was definelty more than 20 minutes.

I didn’t hear the effect but I think someone described it as “white noise” when I spoke.

Obviously, during the meeting all I was doing was talking to people I wasn’t changing anything on the system or running new software.

I have run diagnostics on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams which only test for a few seconds but they all say the microphone is working - which it does for these short tests.

I appreciate your interest in our product. However, this device was intended to work with Windows OS. It is recommended to have Windows 10 and USB 3.0 to maximize streaming and/or recording with this camera. Also, you need a Windows 8 64-bit (or higher) to install the Razer Synapse 3.0 to utilize the device’s features and adjust its settings. Seems a fair point. I must have listened to other peoples, unofficail, review saying ti worked and took a chance. My fault then. Hey, at least the video works…. for now. 😀

For instance … on the Amazon customer Q/A there’s a question saying “does it work on Mac” and this Q/A says yes - guess it comes down to who moderates these things. Shouldn’t this be explicity no.

 

There’s nothing on the web page about Windows only… 5 paragraphs of product information and it doesn’t mention Windows only?? Am I missing something?
