Laptop fan running full speed while doing small tasks and battery getting drained quicker (Razer Book 13)

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. I have been using the razer notebook 13 for 1+ year now and it’s working fine. But I have noticed that the fan runs at full speed when I am working on just even a word document. I don’t play any games. The max workload is from watching youtube or movies. I have only office and 3 other apps installed and the hard drive is only half full. I need to charge my laptop regulary (2 times a day) as the battery also seems to be draining. It may be a setting problem or an issue with something runnning in the background but I have no clue on how to get it fixed. Please help.

  1. Check apps running in background - maybe some is consuming too much CPU/GPU - you can just run windows task manager or download ProcessExplorer.
  2. DId you’ve ever cleaned your laptop? Dusty fans can disrupt air circulation, so it’s getting hot → using fans much → less battery time.

I checked the task manager and it helped. The fan was cleaned 6 months ago. What other options for the long run? Is there something in the razer synapse app that I can do?

DId you’ve also changed thermal paste? Also providing better airflow (for eg. put it on a stand) will also lower a bit the temperatures, so the fans will not spin so often.

Check startup apps in your windows task manager - here you can disable some unnecessary apps, that might also eat some power.

In Synapse you can only choose between some performance modes, and disable/enable integrated GPU.
