Latest update is severely affecting performance

Looks like there was some automatic update today. My gpu now runs super hot, fans are at full volume/speed permanently; there is massive screen-tearing on more than one game; there is an overlay on every window showing time/played/fps (which I don't want). How can I roll this back? Thank you.

    Which update are you referring to? If it's Synapse, try to repair the application by following the steps here. If that didn't help, let me know through PM so I can raise this to the Software Team. *Thread locked to curb conversation to PM.
