Lighting doesn't come back on for keyboard after turning off. Also lighting doesn't respect "switch off" settings for mouse or keyboard.

Hi,

Once the lighting on my Deathstalker V2 Pro turns off, it doesn’t turn back on when I start to use the keyboard again. Keyboard is currently unplugged but at 91% battery. The lighting does turn back on for my Basilisk v3 pro, also unplugged, once I start using it again.

Not sure if it matters but I have the keyboard and mouse both set to “Switch off lighting when idle for [5] minutes” which only works for the mouse. I’ve also got shut off set to “when display is turned off” but this doesn’t work for either device. The keyboard ultimately shuts off due to the setting “Device will turn off after [15] minutes of inactivity when running on battery” under power.

My ideal situation would be that lighting for both devices turns off when I turn off my display (but computer is still running). Not sure if this is possible (for reference my monitor is connected to a 5080 over display port). If not, then the keyboard should at least respect the second setting of turning off after 5 minutes of inactivity like the mouse does. But in either case the lighting should come back on when I start using the keyboard again. Is this possible?

Good to know I’m not the only one! Been having this issue a lot lately with my Ornata V3 and Basilisk V3. I’ve also had a weird issue where, if the lights don’t turn on or freeze on one frame, my up arrow doesn’t work. It’ll work fine if I unplug and replug it back in or if it doesn’t freeze at all, but the moment that happens my up arrow stops working. Only the up arrow too, which I find odd.

I’ve repaired my Synapse and Chroma apps along with turning off the “when display is turned off” option. I’ve got my display to turn off after 3 minutes of inactivity and my peripherals to do the same, so maybe having both options is making something bug out? Food for thought, might see if this fixes it and come back to let someone know.

So I been having the same issue as OP where if my keyboard falls asleep and I wake it up with a keypress, it does work but the lighting stays off even though it should reactivate. I updated firmware and used the wire to operate the keyboard but it doesnt work regardless of wireless or wired connectivity.

Exactly the same issue here. Recently switched to razer synapse 4, and the keyboard lighting won’t come back on after pc wakes from sleep. I have to do a full reboot to fix the issue every time.

As much as synapse 3 was a slow, buggy mess, it never did anything like this.

I’ve got the same issue, glad to know I am not the only one. Ever since I upgraded to the Synapse 4 and the Chroma Application its been acting funny.

same problem. but i find that activating chroma studio again after waking the keyboard will get it to work again. also this only happened sicne i bought hyperflux v2 and connected my DS to it. my basilisk v3 pro 35k works fine on the hyperflux even after waking up. is suspect that when waking, it’s checking for charging power and as there’s no power it kills the lighting?

Same issue with Deathstalker V2 Pro: When the PC wakes from sleep there is no keyboard lighting, but the keyboard is still working in wireless mode. Turning the keyboard off and on again reactivates the lighting but only until the next time the PC sleeps! Seems like a bug in Synapse as this happened only after upgrading to Synapse 4.

Same problem. Keyboard can be re-lit by unplugging and plugging back in…

Thanks for not addressing this in over five months Razer... /s

I’ve come up with a solution (of sorts)..

Given that I only use a static single colour on the keyboard and my mouse has no RGB, I tested if this issue was still present with Synapse 4 closed down and starting with Windows disabled. I selected my preferred RGB colour using Fn + Ctrl + number keys and got on with my day… I’ve not looked back! The ligthing now comes back correctly after every sleep or restart, and the crazy thing is that the mouse and keyboard dongle sharing still works without Synapse running :)

Only disadvantages I can think of here are I don’t get a notification when the battery is low, but I can use the battery indicator lights on the keyboard itself, and I don’t get any updates (thought as a pretty mature product, I hardly expact any) and I still have the ability to launch Synapse whenever I want…
