Update: I shut down in frustration after the last post.  On the next boot up, it prompted me for yet another reboot (#4) for Chroma installation, at which point some, but not all, devices started setting colors.  After reboot #5 and recreating the “migrated” profiles by re-setting all of their settings, I now have color control back.  You read that right, folks.  Chroma installation needs more restarts than installing Windows on a brand new machine.  Imports do not work as stated.  I think I’m going to be looking at other brands next peripheral cycle.

@Arthur760

Just fall back to Synapse 3, it will keep working

Actually had this happen to me as well but I FOUND A FIX

Go into 1 of your device pages then in the top right hand corner of the window you will see a little button that almost looks like 2 windows and its a “Synapse 3 profile migration” button where you can migrate all your old profiles to Synapse 4 and this worked for me

i saw it for like 1 second and it dissappeared.

What a terrible update. How this people don't have a thought of the profiles to adapt to the new version. This company is a same. I'll never trust them ever again.

Thanks you saved me from smashing all my razor equipment. Quoted for those that don’t read through the thread.  This is your fix here.

I just experienced this. I’ve been using Synapse for years, and though it’s not the smoothest experience I’ve adapted as well as possible. When I saw that Synapse 3 would lose support in January I thought that migration would be the best idea, hoping the new setup would be smoother and more user-friendly. Thanks to the help of the user above I was able to find the button to import all previous profiles. I have absolutely NO IDEA why this was not the default setting used during installation of this new software. Unfortunately, none of the profiles work whatsoever, so everything that was migrated over appears to apply a fill color rather than whatever color it should be (orange, green, red, etc.) for any given effect. As such it appears I will have to manually recreate each and every single profile I imported.

It goes without saying, but the current Razer products I own will be the last that I ever purchase. This company has seriously gone downhill, I remember when buying Razer products meant you were paying a premium for quality. Now, it appears, you pay premium merely for a brand. What a shame.

Just happened to me as well, updated to 4 since I saw support for 3 would be gone in Jan. Did the migration tool method, and my profiles did come back but…. All of my recovered profiles were just blank, all 40+ of them, which makes migration USELESS!!! I swear I will never ever buy Razer products ever again (will also never recommend the brand to friends & family as well).

Upgraded for same reason as everyone else. V4 caused my registration for Kraken 7.1 V2 headset to be removed from account. Now THX app will not work without Activation code. Unable to re-Register headset on web site. Does anyone have the link to the migration tool, do not see it listed here.

This issue still exists,it just happened to me today (20th Oct 25) update Upgrade of Synapse4 completely wiped my device profiles.

Even tried a fresh install also-Same result profiles gone.

Synapse 4 is jus ttrash at the moment, why do they have to sunset3 honestly.

People will just move on elsewhere to other brands and i honestly don’t blame them.

Razer Synapse 4’s problem is that Chroma Apps made for Synapse 3 required Synapse 3’s Integrated Chroma app. Razer can fix this by simply symlinking Chroma SDK in Synapse 4’s program so Synapse 3 Chroma Apps can still integrate.

Lost keybinds for Tartarus v2.  Reverted to Synapse 3 - no keybinds.  Found post suggesting the profile migration tool.  Reinstalled 4, ran migration.

Macros migrated, keybinds are still gone.  Sadly, I mapped those keybinds forever ago and they were mapped to custom binds in the game also.  Good luck to me and the 90 minutes I expect it will take me trying to recreate (on top of the 90 minutes I spent trying to find a solution to this debacle.)

I just got hit with this update now before its to late thing. figured alright why not. installed 4, it removed 3 and didn’t import my profiles. tried to manually do it, says there isn’t any on the pc so it can’t do it. well thats frustrating. razer support says to reinstall 3 to manually do the import from 4. but installing 3 uninstalls 4.

you just end up in a loop.

on top of that, half my profiles lost their connections to the games they where connected too.

this is really painful.

oh and export button does nothing, can’t even manually export the profiles.

Thank you. I was about to flip when I realized it didn’t carry over, after all the marketing pressured me to update with assurances that it would.
