Microphone card thinks it's a sound card

A few days ago I was using my laptop and got on discord with some friends when al of a sudden my microphone stopped working. I use a laptop and the soundcard in my laptop handles both audio output and input. But after this problem came to light both parts play audio, what this means is that when I get on discord with someone they hear my system audio instead of my voice. I tried most fixes I could find online but nothing worked, I even factory reset my laptop. Hope you guys had some insights for me, could also just be a hardware problem that I just need to get fixed. Thanks in advance.

    Does this happen even on different communication platforms? For now, PM me the serial number of your device. That way, I can check if there's a model-specific fix for this.
