Microphone not working

I'm trying to get set up on Zoom and the microphone on my New Razer laptop doesn't work. I have updated the device drivers, I have installed the latest Windows updates. The Zoom call is a group call in early November for my mother's 90th birthday. We cannot be together in person and she lives across the country so I really need to get this working. What information do you need? I'm not all that computer literate, so please be specific.
