The Mini-LED Multi-Zone Backlight Control is not still implemented in the Synapse App and since it has been more then 3 months, I’ve spoken with Most German Blade 16 owners who have Mini Led models both BOE and AUO.

More than 50 so Far and we Have Deiced to Join in a Class action Lawsuit aginst Razer as this are very expensive devices That Cost around 5000€.

Razer has ignored or Lied to most of us Has not indicated when they are planing to add the Prommised Features, As the product they sell is very not finished with Known sleep Issues and Mini Led Issues as well as Wake From sleep issues.

Now there would either be an solution to the problems users have if not then I would like to ask everyone regardles of where you are to PM me so we can make the Lawsuit bigger..

Kind Regards..

I think with the new patch it took away the 100% color gamut that I bought it for. Now my screen is just average. It looks dim. I’ve exhausted myself tweaking the colors trying to get the bright beautiful screen that I had when I bought it. Ive tried restoring the laptop to factory settings but I think the patch is embedded in the system even if you restore the laptop the patch restores with it. Such has been my experience. I was sent a link to download an AUO file but the link does not work. Dont think this is a mistake that the link does not work. Plus the display retention patch fixed nothing! My screen still flickers. I am very upset as this is a very expensive laptop and I could have bought any other laptop other than this. You can bet I will never ever support another razer product. And am currently doing my best to save others the headaches by sharing my experience with razer.

This is my second razer laptop and it will also be my last !!!!

My first razer laptop I took it every where and gladly used it publicly showing off its logo. I was very happy with it and felt comfortable upgrading to the razer 16 2023 despite some negative reviews. But never again !!!!

Possible but have not had that happen to me yet, I’m on 23H2 Windows 11, Maybe not be a mistake but possible Razer Dev failed as they did that in the past by turning off the LED, On keys without the need for did you report the issue to Razer support did they answer something ? Do they have answered or did you make a video of the issue ??

However, It might need some work as for me on the Boe Panel I’m not seeing much of a change. When the option is on or off it’s little to no difference.

I just saw this and tried to test it out. They did infact add the option but it also does no change if I enable it. Boe panel here too. Im gonna try the pending windows update I have since in my support ticket, they noted to me that the fix is either gonna be a windows update or on the firmwares page (nothing new there)

Any update? Did you see a difference?

Synapse had an update so I was hoping it would fix the option but nothing, local dimming option still not functional. Im thinking we gotta wait for a firmware update so that synapse can work with the panel settings. Only took over half a year to get to this point smh

Based  on the below FAQs page, the 2024 model is the only one you will be able to disable local dimming.
is Razer giving up with the 2023 model issues?

excuse me wtf, with all the emails ive been sending them since i got the laptop about the panel dimming, this is what it comes too??????

How do you check whether the Blade 16 has an AOU or a BOE mini led panel?

I just purchased the 2024 Mercury Blade 16 with mini led and am waiting for it to arrive. I was told that the 2024 mini led models allow local dimming to be switched off.

I am also experiencing horrible dimming and black crush on my mouse and other small objects over black images. This laptop is very nice except for this issue :( Also curious about the AUO vs BOU display and how to test this.

@originalmarshmello @Ocean-Sun  Go to device manager, monitors, then details. Under the property dropdown change this to hardware Ids, and the dreaded BOE panel will show up.

Thank you for this! I am honestly considering suing them for false advertising if they don’t hurry up and give me a replacement that works.

Mine was just outside the year warranty when I bought it, so support refuses to fix it or replace it. Will be waiting for a firmware update that will never come….

That’s a tough situation legally… I think you are still able to sue them due to false advertising though, which they would probably rather fix your issue than go to court. Did you mention that to support at all?

Mine is still under warrenty and they are claiming to update this issue which was addressed for months and never fixed, and thus my blade cannot be replaced or fixed. Ridiculous, they are stating that I just return the device is I am unsatisfied.

Not like they will definatly  update even before my return window closes. This is ridiculous for a company like razer

They literally told me that it wasn’t fixable.

In this article they admit to the local dimming toggle being available for only the 2024 models. Pretty lame after they advertised the device as being great for both entertainment and content creation work.

dang, I guess razer support always lies so they can just keep the customers to wait until return period or warrenty period ends so we can’t do anything about it

I too am stuck with a non-functional display, which Razer attempted to repair and is now refusing to resolve. I would like to join the class action lawsuit or may even pursue my own legal action. Let’s generate some views on this and warn others about these terrible experiences with Razer.

After about 8 months of back and fourth with customer support, one repair job to try to fix the bad panel (that did nothing but take up weeks of my time), a full RMA to replace the panel (which was replaced with the same bad panel laptop) I have now reached the end of the road it looks like. I haven’t seen this response yet, which makes you think they will eventually fix the issue, but I think we all know we wasted a ton of money on a brick. I’m truly amazed they keep selling the 2023 model and there hasn’t been a recall or some kind of fix to deal with this problem. It’s remarkable how unprofessional and down right deceitful the whole process has been. Never again.

“Thank you for contacting Razer. My name is (made up name from Razer HQ) from the Laptop Specialist Team and I'll be your support agent today.

Regarding your concern, I am afraid we can't grant your request to process a repair since the after-warranty for your replacement is for repair only within a 90-days. Also, if we process a repair and request to replace the panel only is not possible since the other panel which is AUO is already out of stock as per our repair team.

The only thing we can suggest is to wait for the firmware update for this specific panel of the laptop.

Due to the complexity and the work that needs to be done, we are unable to provide an estimate of when you can expect a fix. However, once a fix has been identified, this will be released in a future software update.

I know this is not the answer you are expecting. And as much as I would like to grant your request, unfortunately, so many aspects will be compromised. This will also remind all customers and all the people who are bound by it that Razer has exclusions and limitations on its warranty as well as its process.

But we appreciate your patience and understanding. If you ever need help with us, please don't hesitate to contact us. Have a great day from Razer to your family. Thanks for being part of Razer!”
