Mouse Sensitivity Suddenly Feels Higher Despite Same DPI Settings

Hello Razer Support,

I own a Razer DeathAdder Essential wired mouse, and I regularly play competitive games.

I have been experiencing a serious issue with my mouse over the past 2–3 months.

I usually play at 900 DPI with an in-game sensitivity of 0.28, primarily in Valorant. However, over the past few months, my mouse sensitivity has suddenly started feeling much higher than usual.

Whenever this happens, I check my mouse DPI and polling rate in Razer Synapse, and both appear to be the same as before (900 DPI and 1000 Hz).

Initially, I thought it might be a DPI-related issue, so I reduced my DPI by 100. This temporarily made the sensitivity feel normal again. However, after a few days, the same issue returned, and I had to reduce the DPI by another 100.

This sudden increase in perceived sensitivity keeps happening. I am currently using 400 DPI, but even at this setting, my mouse sensitivity has started feeling unusually high again.

I cannot keep reducing my DPI every time this happens, so I would like a proper solution to this issue.

One important thing I would like to mention is that my overall sensitivity doesn't necessarily feel extremely high. However, even the smallest mouse movements, especially when making precise adjustments for aiming, sometimes feel excessively sensitive and difficult to control.

Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue and suggest a permanent solution?

I had something similar creep in on my DeathAdder, and for me it was not the DPI number itself. I checked that I had not accidentally switched to a different Synapse profile or DPI stage, and I made sure Windows Enhance pointer precision was off so the two were not fighting each other. Once I stuck to one profile and stopped chasing it down by 100 DPI each time, it stayed consistent for me.
