Muffled Sound with my Razer Kraken Headset

Hello there, After searching on the internet for over an hour, I will try my luck here. I bought the Razer Kraken headset from amazon a couple of days ago. Plugged the 3.5 mm cable directly into my tower and the sound is muffled like I'm swimming with Ariel under the sea. What I have done is uninstalled my audio driver from the sound setting, uninstalled the Razer 7.1 Surround Sound program restarted my computer several times ...... and yet, here I am with muffled headphones (debating on returning them because maybe I got a defect or something) Computer is all updated as well. Please help Edit: ~bump~ I really don't want to hear under the sea anymore

    I highly recommend that you test the headset on a smartphone. That way, you can isolate if this is a headset or an audio port/driver issue. Do send me the serial number so I can verify the model that you have. Let's continue from there. *Thread locked to curb the conversation to PMs.
