Hello,
I have a Razer Blade 15, model RZ09-0351, and I am experiencing several hardware-related issues.
The first issue is with the keyboard. Some keys have stopped responding completely.
The problem started some time ago with only the M key. Initially, all other keys worked normally. More recently, additional keys have stopped working, including T and Backspace.
The affected keys do not respond at all. I have already tried:
- Restarting the laptop.
- Removing the keycaps and checking/cleaning underneath the keys.
- Testing the keys directly without the keycaps.
- Testing the keyboard in Windows Safe Mode. The same keys still do not work there.
- Entering the BIOS.
Since the problem started with a single key and progressively affected additional keys over time, I am concerned that this could be a hardware issue involving the keyboard matrix, keyboard flex cable/connector, or another component responsible for reading the keyboard.
There is also another issue that started recently: when I want to turn on the laptop, I press the power button, but the laptop does not always turn on. I then have to connect the charger immediately after pressing the power button in order for the laptop to start. It seems as if the power button or another part of the power-on circuit does not respond correctly unless the charger is connected.
This power-on behavior is relatively recent and was not happening when I first started experiencing the keyboard issue.
I also tried to access the built-in recovery by pressing F9 during startup. The laptop displays “Entering recovery mode”, but then nothing happens and Windows starts normally.
Given that I am now experiencing both progressively failing keyboard keys and a new power-on/power-related issue, I would like to know if these symptoms could potentially be related to a common hardware issue, such as the motherboard, embedded controller (EC), keyboard controller, power circuitry, or another component.
Before replacing the keyboard or performing a factory reset, could you please advise me on the appropriate diagnostic procedure to determine whether the problem is with the keyboard itself, the keyboard matrix/flex cable, the motherboard/controller, or the power circuitry?
I would also like to know whether this is a known issue with the Razer Blade 15 RZ09-0351 and whether it can be repaired without replacing the entire motherboard or keyboard assembly.
Thank you.
