my 2080 super razer blade and no vr support it seems no adapters work

I purchased a used pimax 5k+ that connects to my desktop just fine but will not connect to this laptop through any adapter I have tried so far. 1.4 displayport 8k adapter to my thunderbolt 3 but it doesn't connect. is there a way to designate the GPU to TB3? I am baffled as to why this laptop isn't plug and play on three different adapters. I ahve ordered the customcreations adapter, but its 2 weeks away. has anyone sussessfully mounted an index or pimax to the 2080? which adapter did you use?
