my dongle for the blackshark v2 hyperspeed stopped being recognized out of nowhere

Hello Razer Support,

my Razer BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed USB dongle suddenly stopped working.

The headset itself was working normally before the issue occurred mid-game without any changes to my PC or the headset.

Windows detected the dongle in the Device Manager as:

“Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Unplugging and reconnecting the dongle
  • Using different USB ports
  • Uninstalling the unknown USB device from Device Manager
  • Restarting the PC
  • Completely shutting down and restarting the PC
  • Testing the dongle on a second computer/laptop

The same problem occurred on both computers. Therefore, it does not appear to be a Windows-specific issue.

The Headset is working fine when I connect it via cable.

When I connect the dongle it shows a very feint green light for a second before going dark.

 

Could you please advise whether there is a way to reset/recover the dongle or if I can replace it?

    Hey there,

    sadly I have no solution but the same problem. I’m playing or in voice chat and all of a sudden my audio is gone and I can only use the bluetooth mode which has a hideous sound to it. The only solution which can’t really count as one is disconnecting all Razer products via the Device Detection Troubleshoot Tool and then reinstalling Synapse and the devices.

    A real bummer concidering what Razer products cost. Looking at some older threads here and on reddit we are not the only ones with  the problem and there is a big option of possible fixes.

    Hope you and I get the help we need, for the forseeable future I don’t think I’ll purchase a Razer product again.
