My Razer Basilisk V3 is not working

My razer basilisk v3 sudden is not working, but the chroma lightning keep flashing 1-2 per sec flashing 1 time and there has a sound also, seems like electric shortage… after I unplug and replug in… same problem as well. This mice I bought on 2021… May I know what’s the problem about this mice?

I have the Basilisk V3 - wired version and went through this.

 

Tried everything, firmware, driver removal and reinstall, Synapse reinstall, different USB port, different PC, etc etc.

Eventually found a comment on a thread here and somewhere on reddit about the free wheel scroll actuator failing. It seems to be pretty common for people with this mouse but no real information around.


With Razer’s complete lack of help for anyone outside of their warranty period, regardless of how widespread this issue is, I made a video to help people.
If you cut only the thin ribbon cable leading to the free scroll actuator, you will disable it and the mouse will be functional again but will only have tactile scroll.
You can test if this is your issue before proceeding by unplugging the ribbon cable and testing if the mouse powers up before cutting it.
