Nari Ultimate for Xbox - Completely unusable
Alright, so I purchased this headset months ago and have been trying to get it to work consistently. Verdict? Useless and a waste of my money.
There hasn't been a single Razer product I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommend to a friend/stranger on the internet, until I bought this product. I cannot recommend it to anyone, ever, which really sucks because the audio is fantastic and the feedback is amazing.
I initially got the Nari and linked it to my Xbox One X. The first issues I experienced were constant disconnects from my console. Sometimes it would reconnect, most often it would never connect again until I re-paired it. It is extremely frustrating to have your headset disconnect when playing Apex and in the final ring. There was no way for me to update the firmware (I believe it has to be delivered via the Xbox, which is fine) so I couldn't try that as a test (it does not connect to Synapse when plugged into a PC).
I turned off all 2.4 GHz WiFi, with no change. I found that if you run an Elite V1/V2 controller its even worse and the disconnects are constant. I plugged my Elite V2 in directly to my Xbox. The disconnects went down in frequency, but still happened. I tried it on an Xbox One, Xbox One X, and an Xbox Series X. I tried it in different locations around the house. The behavior was the same anywhere I went. It appears that the cable is just for charging, and plugging that in didn't change anything.
Additionally, the mic is so directionally sensitive its frustrating. I basically have to eat my mic to get people to hear me, and even then it has to be pointed exactly right. The intake port and whatever the passthrough in the back is seem to work a little too well.
I reached out to Razer support and explained what was going on (before the Series X came out). They were awesome as usual and I got a replacement shipped to me. The same exact behavior happens on the new one too, so it appears systemic.
If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears, however I'm not holding my breath and I'm hesitant to spend money on any other Razer headset, especially a wireless one.
