It appears that this is an issue across many headsets, and it looks like it was a software update that bricked the wireless dongle. This has rendered a $200 headset useless, and Razer needs to address this. Please advise how this can be remedied.

Hi Hexogenesis,

Does the issue occur when connecting your headset via wired and wireless? Did anything happen to your headset previously that could have caused this problem? To isolate the issue, try the steps below:

1. For wireless headsets, ensure that the device is operated within the maximum wireless range and there are no other devices that may cause interference.
2. Ensure that the device is plugged in directly to a PC and not a USB hub.
3. Uninstall headset drivers.

  • Press Windows key + S on the keyboard to open the Search bar.
  • Type in “Device Manager” and hit enter.
  • Go to “Audio inputs and outputs”.
  • Right-click on the Razer headset and select “Uninstall device”.Restart the computer to completely uninstall the drivers. The drivers are automatically installed on the computer after a restart.

4. Re-pair the headset using the pairing utility.
5. Try the headset on a different computer to further isolate the issue. If the headset is working properly on a different device, the issue could be due to a defective computer or device USB port.

If you need further assistance, please PM me with your headset serial number and proof of purchase for warranty validation. All the best!
