Need help with faulty controller

A few years ago I purchased a wolverine controller for my xbox one and it was working well till one day when the left thumbstick wasn't picking up on any forward movement inputs, I've only just gotten into pc gaming and want a controller to use and don't have the money to buy a new controller and was hoping for a way to fix my old controller (the warranty as long expired). thanks for any help
