No sound from Razer Black Shark V2X headset and sound from laptop speaker when headset is plugged in

Hi, I just bought a Razer Black Shark V2X headset and my problem is that When I plug it into my phone it works fine and plays sound but when I plug it into my laptop it doesn't play sound at all and the sound comes out of my laptop speaker. I watched a lot of videos and even set the headset as default. I even registered it. I even activated the headset on the Razer website and the 7.1 program but still the sound doesn't play from the headset. It only plays from the laptop speaker. I even used a splitter cable but it doesn't work at all. Does anyone know what I should do? I've been struggling with this problem for 2 days now. Thanks
