Hello, I could use some help. There is no sound when I use the 7.1 surround sound software.

I have already used my activation code and everything. I have tried it with all of my output devices, and none of them work. I want it to work when I select “Realtek(R) Audio (Headphones)” which is my Blackshark V2 X headset. When my I select the sound output to be my headphones, it works just fine. But when I try “Speakers, 7.1 Surround Sound”  neither of them work. No sound comes out. I tried to uninstall the 7.1 surround sound app and even followed steps I saw in the support tab but it still didn’t work.

I don’t know what else to try.  Can anyone help me, thanks.

Hey, I ran into something similar with the 7.1 app before. A few things worth checking: first, open Windows sound settings and make sure the 7.1 Surround Sound device is set as your default playback device, not the headset itself. Then open the 7.1 app and confirm your BlackShark V2 X is selected as the output device inside the app, since the app routes audio through the headset and both have to line up. If that all looks right, try a clean reinstall of the 7.1 Surround Sound app (uninstall, restart your PC, install fresh) — a broken install can cause exactly this kind of silence. Also test the headset in plain stereo with the app closed to rule out a hardware issue. Hope one of these gets it working for you!

This is usually a routing issue rather than a broken headset. In the Windows sound settings, set the 7.1 Surround Sound device as your default playback device, because your games and apps need to send audio to that virtual device first. Then open the 7.1 Surround Sound app itself and make sure your BlackShark V2 X is the selected output device in there — if it points at speakers or another device, you will hear nothing in the headset. It also helps to disable audio enhancements on both devices and set the default format to 16-bit, 48000 Hz in the device properties. If it still stays silent, uninstall the 7.1 app, reboot, and reinstall it fresh, since a corrupted install after activation is a common cause of exactly this symptom.

Hey there, @hitPatriarchventure671

I understand that you're not getting any audio when "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)" is selected as the playback device, while audio works normally when "Realtek(R) Audio (Headphones)" is selected. Please try the following troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Sound.

  2. Select "Speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)" as the output device.

Windows Setting > System > Sound page

  3. Launch the 7.1 Surround Sound software.

  4. Select the output device that you would like to apply 7.1 Surround Sound on.

  5. Select the system's onboard audio playback device if you are using an analog headset connected via the system's 3.5 mm port.

  6. Select “Sound Control Panel” under “Related Settings” to ensure that "Spatial sound" is turned off.

    Windows Sound Control Panel page

    1. Right-click on the playback device where the 7.1 Surround Sound is active, then select “Properties”.

      Windows Playback Properties page

    2. Go to the “Spatial sound” tab.

    3. Confirm that “Off” is selected from the drop-down list under the “Spatial sound format”.

  7. Click “Apply” then “OK”.Windows Properties Spatial sound tab

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps, please send me a private message together with your device's serial number so I can check its details in our system and assist you further. Thank you!
