Not satisfied with 7.1 Surround Sound

I absolutely enjoyed the Razer Synapse 2 Surround Sound Pro. I got it for free randomly one day a few years back and I loved it. It worked great, it sounded absolutely flawless, a lot more clear, vibrant and great overall in other ways I don't know how to describe with audio. It just made playing games a lot more fun. Sadly, as of recently, it stopped working right. It was all scratchy and popping and I could not figure out what the problem was.

After a week or so, I gave up on it and was looking into getting the Razer Kraken for the new 7.1 Surround Sound, due to the fact that I accidentally vacuumed my old Kraken Pro V2's. So, I decided to buy one. Hoping that's it's surround sound was just as good or even better than the Synapse 2 Surround Sound Pro. Just today, they arrived and I tried them out and I must say, I was not really satisfied with the results. They kind of sound worse than the default Windows Audio while gaming. Sure the surround sound itself is fantastic, but the audio isn't as good. It's all muffled and the loudness equalization is bad. I can here things but can't hear other quieter things at all. It varies depending on the game.

What is this new software? Is there no equalizer or anything else that comes along with the new 7.1 Surround Sound? It's just one click to turn it on and off? No settings or anything? I'm not one to complain, and I'm not trying to sound aggressive or hateful, but this was surprisingly a little disappointing for me. I would want the Synapse 2 Surround Sound Pro back because that software was just flawless. It was perfect for me. I hate to not have it anymore. What's up with that anyway? Why is the old surround sound software in the Synapse 2 no longer a thing? I just don't understand why Razer kind of threw it away. It was really good software.
