Used my Razer blade 14 this morning and when I came back to it this afternoon, the external monitor wouldn’t display. I just assumed the cable was bad and tried another with no luck. I found that I have gotten the terrible error 43 with my NVIDIA 3080. I tried all of the typical fixes for reinstalling the drivers, rolling them back and things like that. GPU-Z is showing all the expected numbers for the CPU but the GPU has all of the numbers as 0. I’m assuming the GPU is dead. Can anyone confirm or is there another possible fix?

Got a similar error. Were you ever able to solve the problem?

Hello there is a solution. First download NVflash, look up how to backup ROM with nvflash. Back up your Vbios Rom and check size if it’s less than 900 kb then here is your culprit, get GPUz and look at your device id, get the vbios that matches your device id. Another thing that you should see is the missing bios in gpuz(confirms that vbios are the problem).
Two solutions:

number one, try flashing the vbios you downloaded with NVflash. If it fails to verify the bios at the end and says mismatch yada yada proceed to solution 2.

Solution 2:

Your vbios chip needs replacement, Look inside the laptop after opening the heat sink, it’s a small chip saying winbond 25q16jwn for 3080 blade 14. W25Q16JWSNIQ is what you need to order for this laptop, AliExpress is your best bet. Upon procurement of this chip, you need to get to a technician or solder it yourself. Replace the chip and take out the battery. While charger plugged in, turn on the laptop and flash the vbios and it will successfully write the Vbios on your new chip.

Restart the computer and everything should work fine. I applied this solution 1 hour ago and after rotting for a year, the laptop has come to life. HDMI works and gpuz gives all the data. Please check your battery, if it’s swollen don’t put it back in.

The battery is what killed that Vbios chip, razer laptops use bottom lid as heat sink, the lid transfers all that heat to battery and it swells and fluctuates the voltage which inevitably kills the chip. It’s razers bad design choice being edge lords and all.
