the issue: (usually) the right mouse button will release for a fraction of a second while I'm holding it. Sometimes it does the same with the left mouse button, but its harder to tell and seems less frequent
frequency: this happens very randomly. some weeks it will be almost unnoticeable, some weeks or days it will make it nearly unusable. most of the time it occurs just a couple times per hour, but it sometimes it's a lot worse. it appears to be completely random.
what I've tried: the only help I could find pertinent to the subject said to 1. plug it into a USB 3.0 and 2. update firmware.
I've tried it in both USB 2.0 and 3.0, and I've update and double checked that my firmware is updated.

adjusting the polling rate on my mouse seems to help some amount. it doesn't seem related to the distance from my computer (about 2 feet, computer is under my desk
