Orochi V2 USB dongle keeps disconnecting/reconnecting even when the mouse is turned off

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Razer Orochi V2’s 2.4GHz USB dongle. Bluetooth mode works completely fine, but whenever I plug in the USB dongle, Windows keeps playing the USB connect/disconnect sound repeatedly. The mouse may work for a short time, but after a while it freezes and the dongle starts disconnecting and reconnecting over and over again, making 2.4GHz mode unusable.

What makes me think this is a dongle issue is that the problem still happens even when the mouse itself is switched off. I also tested the dongle on another computer, and the same disconnect/reconnect sound still happens there as well.

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Replaced the battery with a new one
  • Tried different USB ports
  • Tried using a USB extension cable to move the receiver away from the laptop
  • Disabled USB power saving / selective suspend settings
  • Changed Windows power plan settings
  • Reinstalled Razer Synapse
  • Tested the dongle on a second computer
  • Confirmed that Bluetooth mode works normally

I also wanted to try updating the firmware or using the pairing utility, but the dongle keeps disconnecting, so I’m worried the update may fail or get interrupted.

At this point, does this sound like a faulty USB dongle? Has anyone managed to fix this, or is the only real solution to contact Razer support for an RMA or replacement dongle?

Thanks in advance.

Hey awesomeTimberwolfcove832,

I’m here to help. Please send me a PM with your Razer Orochi V2’s serial number, region and proof of purchase so I can check for replacement options. Kindly upload it to Google Drive, and set it to "Public" or “Anyone Who Has The Link” so we can access the file. Then share the link with us. Have a great day!
