Overheating rtx 3080 on rz09-0368x | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have a rzb 2021 17" and suddenly, whenever I do anything that involves the GPU, examples being - video games, nicehash, youtube, etc, the GPU heats up to 102 degrees and throttles to 200mhz making anything unusable.

Let me get the obvious out of the way:

  • There is no dust, I took apart the laptop and cleaned everything out.

  • I re-applied thermal paste on the GPU (after this issue began not before)

  • The laptop is elevated sufficiently, all vents are open to air and no obstructions

This is a new issue, it has not done this for a year.

Additional info: Windows 11, additional SSD installed (the day I got it)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Does the same temperature happen when the laptop is not running any apps or when on Windows Safe Mode with Networking? You may also follow the recommendation from this article.
