Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with my Windows mouse cursor on a dual monitor setup (NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU).
The Issue: My main Windows mouse cursor gets distorted and pixelated during normal operation.
Key Observation:
-
When I press the
Print Screenkey using the screenshot tool Greenshot, or right after restartingexplorer.exe, the cursor immediately looks completely normal, sharp, and smooth. -
Once Windows finishes loading/rendering in the background, the cursor reverts back to being distorted. This confirms the cursor image files themselves are intact and it's a hardware cursor overlay/rendering conflict.
What I've already tried (without success):
-
Closing Razer Synapse or removing it from autostart (the issue still persists)
-
Resetting Windows cursor schemes and registry settings (
Cursorspath,Shadowvalue) -
Disabling "Enhance pointer precision" and pointer trails
-
Adjusting DPI scaling (both displays set to 100%) and matching refresh rates
-
Switching GPU scaling options in NVIDIA Control Panel
-
Changing polling rates (1000Hz / 500Hz / 125Hz) in Razer Synapse
Even though closing Synapse didn't fix it, I still need Synapse running for my custom key bindings (button mapped to 'V') and my Chroma lighting setup across my Basilisk V3 and Ornata V3.
Has anyone encountered this GPU/DWM hardware cursor corruption issue before, or is there a specific setting/workaround to force Windows or the NVIDIA driver to render the cursor cleanly without distortion?
Thanks for any help!
