I’ve been facing this issue related to boot-up and sleep for a long while now, but I haven’t looked into it much until recently. When waking it up after an extended period of time sleeping, the screen will always go black, requiring me to perform up to multiple forced shutdowns as the screen often continues to stay black for multiple resets. This black screen issue also occurs after a normal shutdown, though less often. I thought that maybe this was a Windows or BIOS setting issue. After multiple changes to BIOS, factory resetting to Razer’s Windows 10 configuration, performing a fresh install of Windows 11, and even switching to Linux (Ubuntu, now on Pop!_OS), the issue still persists. I decided to do some digging on some of the errors I found in the Linux kernel around where the issue occurs (Windows’ event viewer wasn’t much help), and it looks like some of these errors point to the cause being the firmware.
I’m on the latest EC firmware (v01.01) for my model (RZ09-0330x).
