Pro Type not working with pc.

Hey I recently purchased a pro click and pro type. Pro click directly from Razer, works perfectly, shows up in the software and everything. The pro type i got from amazon, not so much, it doesnt type, doesnt light up, and doesnt show up in Razer Synapse. When I plug the dongle in, it says it setting up, and Windows 10 says it all fine, but it doesnt type. When plugged in the light on the back is green, but thats it, no other reactions from the keyboard. Did I get a defective unit? Any help appreciate in advance :)
