Hey there Razer support community,

 

Does anyone know where I can find the drivers for the I2c HID Device? They are not listed on the Razer 14 support driver page? 

 
Very long story short: my touchpad quit working on my Razer Blade 14 2021 18 months into ownership. It would occasionally quit and stop working but solutions that I found on the internet via Razer Support, Microsoft Community, Razer Discord, and more worked as temporary solutions. What I mean is that they worked until May 2023 when my touchpad went out entirely. I reached out to Razer support again and sent them my device. They reportedly ran updated and installed new drivers (from somewhere, I have no idea where) which fixed the problem and sent it back to me. 
 
Since receiving my laptop back from Razer things have been mostly good. My touchpad works although there have been three days where it would wake up from sleep mode and wasn't working. On these days, I opened up and checked the I2c HID Device and it reported no problems. This was strange since that had always been the problem before. Restarts fixed all of these issues. 
 
Last night my touchpad is not working at all again. The I2c HID Device is reporting that the "request for HID descriptor failed." Restarts and system updates in Windows, Razer Synapse, AMD Software, and Nvidia are not fixing this issue. 
 
You can imagine that this is disappointing. 
 
Furthermore, the fix for this over the summer was "send it in to us for $$ and we will fix it". I was happy to do this as I was out of solutions and the fix seemed to be out of my league. The fix was reported back to me as " They were able to confirm that the touchpad was not functioning so they perform a factory reset with the device and installed all necessary updates and drivers, after that, the touchpad started working. " My request for further information about the fix was ghosted. 
 
I did decide that the ghost was probably fine, since technically that was the solution, and they were trying to help. But now that I am encountering the problem again, I need insight on what I should do. As well as to ask the bigger question of "did I receive the fix that I was assured and charged for?"
 
Sorry, long post. Does anyone know where I can find the drivers for the I2c HID Device? They are not listed on the Razer 14 support driver page?

I had the same issue with my 2022 Razer Blade 15 today, I wen to device manager, saw that 12c hid device was unresponsive, I uninstall it and in the options there, scan for hardware changes, and it got resolved. I hope that helps you as well.


@dloudsmilks Any luck on solving this problem? I'm encountering the exact same issue :-(
